Najib cure K'tan? It's the other way round

Over the weekend. Deputy prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said ‘BN wants to treat Kelantan for its ills’. Hello there, Mr Deputy PM. Before you prescribe your cure for Kelantan, heal thyself.

It is true we are a bit provincial and rustic. But we are not fools like some of the infantile, imbecile, crooked leaders in Umno. We can see through you and your kind.

We know for a fact that for years investors had been diverted by Umno from Kelantan. You don't know? Ask Dr Mahathir Mohamad, another doctor who needs a cure. Ask Mustapha Mohammad. Ask Anuar Musa. Ask Ku Li. The reason we are underdeveloped is because of these Umno personalities, not PAS.

You promise us mosques and you say Umno will develop Islam and the ummah will excel if you win? What if you lose?

No thank you. We have enough mosques for everybody, Islam does not need to be developed, the local ummah is resilient and have always excelled in Kelantan and elsewhere. Do yourself a favor; maybe you should enrol in one of the spiritual rehabilitation (brain-washing) centers your government is so proud of; cure thyself man – falsehood, greed and lechery are sins.

Before you presume to teach us economics and religion and governance, allow me to ask you a question - what has the Umno (BN) government done for the people of Sabah, a resource-rich state but with the highest poverty level? What has it done besides flooding it with illegal immigrants just so they can vote for Umno (BN)? You have been there for years; so why can't you treat its ills? What have you crooks done with its wealth?

Before I sign off, one more thing - the elections are just around the corner. Rice and budu (fermented fish) issues are important to us. So when are you going to give us the goodies (like a sack of rice, a bottle of budu, a pack of cooking oil, maybe one or two hundred ringgit, a sarong) we deserve? After all, those things have been bought with our money. I guarantee you we will thank you for that.

Hey, maybe you should come and put your roots down here in Kelantan. You can't cure Kelantan. We are too smart for that. But we can teach you a thing or two about decency, humility, responsibility, honesty – qualities we associate with a leader. It is sad that people in Umno with those qualities are the exceptions and you can count them on the toes of one foot and they are always shunted aside.

Today, what do you associate with Umno and its leaders? Corruption. Selfishness. Insensitivity. Greed. Arrogance. Chauvinism. Sexism. Racism. And big egos and little minds. And you want to cure us? You are very bad medicine. No, unless you change and become a better man than Tok Guru, you can't cure Kelantan.

But Kelantan can cure you.
